MIT

I can't believe it has been over a month since the last Make It Thursday feature!  Time flies by SO fast!!!
Since I have been contemplating an idea of starting some sewing projects I decided that it would be appropriate to dedicate today's MIT to

cute sewn stuff

Dana Willard from MADE is my ultimate sewing/blogging inspiration.  She makes adorable clothes for her children and herself and shares sewing patterns and tutorials with her readers.  HOBO SACK is one of her cute creations and she has STEP-BY-STEP instructions on how to transform it into a girl-y version:

Although this pattern is not new I found it recently on one of Pinterest boards.  Suzanne from JUST ANOTHER HANG UP came up with the idea of making bird-shaped rice-filled cooling pads for little kids AKA CHICK-SICLE.  I am no longer a child and rarely hurt/bruise/cut myself, but I wouldn't mind having a couple of these cuties!

My third favorite sewing project is the BIRD MOBILE from SPOOL.  The .PDF BIRD PATTERN could be found on the first page and even if you can not attend any of Spool's workshops, you should have no troubles figuring out how to sew a flock of colourful birds.

July is the month of outdoors: camping, bbq, picnics, garden parties ....   If you have a backyard, patio or a small balcony - here are some of my favorite tutorials on how to add more light and decor to the outdoor space.

I fell in love with these DIY GARDEN LANTERNS back in early March:

If you are like me, you might have a collection of empty glass jars hidden under your sink.  Choose several small-er jars and make this cute OUTDOOR CHANDELIER

This FLOWER GARLAND was designed as a part of Easter decor, but I believe it would look great as a patio decoration.  Unfortunately,  the original post is in Norwegian, but I found a similar tutorial over HERE (Esprit Cabane)

Ideas for today's Make It Thursday* feature are taken from my USEFUL board on Pinterest.
*I am well aware that it's Friday today - better late than never ;)

A friend of mine asked me recently how to mend knitted socks.  I decided to google some videos for her and was surprised to find out that the proper term for the process is "to darn"!  Here is an article DARN IT from the Craft blog explaining how to fix socks, blankets, mittens, etc.

I really need to take a better care of my wooden spoons and boards.  I had this SPOON OIL recipe saved for a while now.  I think upcoming weekend is the perfect time to give some TLC to my hardworking tools.

I was so happy to see Alice's post with instructions on SEWING A LINING INTO A CROCHETED BAG.  Why?  Because I am almost done crocheting a set of basket that would need some pretty lining before I can use them as storage.  Thank you, Alice!

Ooops, looks like Blogger was down last Thursday and my pre-scheduled post never appeared here.  Let's try once again:

Make It Thursday Tuesday

I am slowly getting back to blogging and it is time for the weekly MIT feature.  I have been seeing a lot of cute and easy tutorials for turning jars and glasses into whimsical, adorable vases.  And since the flowers are blooming, what could be a better way to decorate your house?

This simple project was a part of 5 KID CRAFT-VASES FOR MOTHERS DAY at Momtastic.  Check out the full TUTORIAL at Modern Parents Messy Kids.

A quick upcycling project by Mark Montano.  All you need is some yarn, spray paint, and ribbons to turn MASON JARS into VASES.

This is probably the cutest project I have ever seen.  Can you guess what this vase is made of?  A balloon and a glass votive candle holder!  Camilla from Family Chic has step-by-step instructions for this adorable BALLOON VASE.

Make it Thursday

I decided to begin a new weekly feature: a selection of my favorite tutorials called "Make it".  This week's Make It Thursday is all about Spring!  It is grey and snow-y in Montreal - perfect time for sunny Spring projects.

Out of cupcake liners?  Not to worry, here is another beautiful flower tutorial.  All you need is paper ... a flower-shaped punch could be useful, but I am sure you can do without.
@With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart

If you prefer fresh flowers and yours are not covered with 15cm of snow, take a look at unusual (yet stunning) centerpieces.  This one is my favorite:
